Suggested Maintenance Schedule & Warranty Requirements

Activate Your Warranty In 5 Simple Steps 

 

1 - Download & Print The Warranty Worksheet Form

2 - Book Your Trailer In For A Check/Service With A Qualified Mechanic

3 - When You Drop Your Trailer In To Your Mechanic Hand Over Warranty Worksheet Form So Mechanic Can See What Needs To Be Completed.

4 - Get Mechanic To Note/Itemise That The Warranty Checks Have Been Completed As Per The Warranty Worksheet Form

5 - Upload The Proof of Completion / Order Details So We Can Link It To Your Trailer & Activate Your Warranty

 

The below must be completed by a Mechanic or Qualified Professional before 6 months from initial order date as shown on your Order Confirmation Email.​​

Prior to six months from placing the order the following maintenance items must be completed:

​

Tyre wear, wheels
Check the ageing condition of the tyres (e.g. cracks, porous spots) and measure the tread depth in the middle of the tyres. Inspect the rims for visible damage (concentricity, wobble) and swap or repair the wheels as axle sets or in pairs. 

​

Coupling ball & Coupling
Check for visible damage and inspect the components for correct function and wear. Grease as required.

​

Jockey wheel
Check the Jockey wheel for function and stability and lubricate the movable parts. 

​

Wheel Bearings
Check Wheel Bearings, adjust as required. Remove hubcaps, check sufficient grease and re pack grease into the wheel bearings if required. Ensure excess grease is stored in the hubcap.

​

Mounting bolts
Check tightness of all mounting bolts.

Pay particular attention to the bolted connections on the chassis. Immediately tighten any loose bolts. Replace any worn or rusty bolted connections.

Tie down points / Lashing points
Check the lashing points (tie-down lugs, rings, brackets), lashing chains and ropes for damage and presence and replace them if necessary.

Lights & Plug
Check all lights are working as expected and plug is in good condition.

Galvanising

visually inspect all surfaces for damage to galvanising.

if rust is present; wire brush rust back to clean bare steel and apply Rust converter (allow to dry), Apply Cold Galv Spray (Allow to dry) & Finally apply Bright Silver Galv spray.

Replace or repair defective or damaged parts. Check locks / hinges and grease if required. Check fixed superstructures for tightness and function.

If you are unable to activate your warranty through the the warranty portal, email proof of your maintenance to warranty@tufftrailers.co.nz along with a copy of your order confirmation email or invoice.

All trailers must be serviced In accordance with the terms & conditions listed on the website within 6 months of purchase for warranty to remain valid.

You will be asked to provide receipts as proof of servicing if a warranty claim is made and these should be submitted onto our warranty activation portal prior to 6 months from purchase.
